APPLICATIONS |
||
Nitro- is the prefix indicating presence of the group -NO2. Historically They
are abundant in dyes and explosives. Nitro compounds, organic hydrocarbons
having one or more NO2 groups bonded via nitrogen to the carbon framework, are
versatile intermediate in organic synthesis of;
Anthranilic acid, amino group substituted benzoic acid at ortho position, is used as an intermediate for production of dyes, pigments and saccharin. It has amino and carboxylic group attached in ring structure. It and its esters are used in preparing perfumes, pharmaceuticals and UV-absorber as well as corrosion inhibitors for metals and mold inhibitors in soya sauce. 5-Nitroanthranilic acid is used as an intermediate for dyes and pharmaceuticals. |
